A space saving wall bed for every day use

Comparing a wall bed to a futon or sofa bed as their advantages.

Solve your lack of space with a few unique options, one of them being a wall bed!

Lack of space is always a big problem, so you sometimes need to have a multi functional room in order to save space when your space is not large enough.

So if you don’t want to leave one room of your living space just for an occasional guest who might visit a couple times a year, using a Murphy bed will help you have a hidden wall bed in that room and just use it as a bed when you need it.

Keep in mind, that if you buy a custom Murphy bed or wall bed it will cost you thousands of dollars, because the work is done for you and they charge good money for their services. If you are wal bed set up in roomfamiliar with woodworking skills and you have done a few DIY projects in the past, the Easy DIY Murphy Bed is an option to maximize your space without spending a lot of money.

The Sofa Bed Option

The other option is to buy a sofa bed or a futon, so you can use it as a couch for most of the times and when a guest comes to stay with you overnight, you can turn it to a bed. That can be a solution, but most sofa beds are not very comfortable unless they are high quality and good brands which will cost you a pretty penny, and you still need to store the blanket and pillows in a closet.

My parents live in a city that is a couple hours away from where my husband and I live. Last year we went to stay with my parents for New Year.sofa bed to wall bed

The problem with sofa beds is that they don’t have a real mattress and they don’t give you the good feeling of a deep sleep. So sleeping on a sofa bed or futon can be the best solution for temporary use or short time, but for long term it might not be the best option.

Keep in mind, that if someone comes to stay at your place for a couple of weeks or if you have to use an extra bed every day, a Murphy bed is the ideal solution because you don’t have to compromise a good night sleep.

The comfort of your Murphy bed depends on the quality of the mattress you are going to use. Take note that very heavy mattresses cannot be used for a Murphy bed. Most mattresses go on sale at very reasonable prices once in a while and you can find a very comfortable mattress at a very good price if you keep an eye on sales.

I plan to build a horizontal murphy bed. Is there a downloadable booklet available for this type of bed. I did download the vertical brochure, but it’s not clear to me, if it applies to the horizontal version.

hi Mark the horizontal bed is similar to the vertical in construction and assembly. The main difference is that the bed is sideways not vertical. we dont have the free downloadable guide for the horizontal bed. You can contact us via our contact page and Nadia can email you a copy for your review if you wish. thank you.
